Big Game Hunting for 2011 in Oregon and Washington

High Desert Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Pacific Blacktail, And Cascade Blacktail Deer

   We are offering a limited number of Trophy Mule Deer Guided Hunts and Mule Deer Management Hunts in Oregon and Washington. Most of our hunts are for Mule Deer, but we do pursue the other mentioned species on request. Hunts will feature well-outfitted base camps or lodge-style accommodations. New areas will become available from time to time based on the quality of game available. A number of hunts can be packaged with both pheasant and waterfowl shooting without additional travel, particularly now that Oregon and Washington have adjusted seasonal openings on upland to overlap with Big Game, mainly deer... Cougar and Black Bear opportunities are possible during your Deer and Elk hunts with tag purchase and an additional trophy fee incidental to your Deer or Elk hunt. We feature the best service, meals, and accommodations available. All hunts   are 2 hunters per guide, 6 nights and 5 days unless specified otherwise.

High Desert Mule Deer, Whitetail Deer, Pacific Blacktail, and Cascade Blacktail Hunts

   Please note that because of publishing lead time, some dates are tentative. Contact us to verify and reserve your dates. The airport for non-resident hunters would be Portland International Airport (PDX) or Spokane, WA International (GEG), Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) or another airport of your choosing. Transportation to camp can be provided for an additional fee. 60% deposit is required to book a hunt + Tags and License fees.

   We have guaranteed NON-RESIDENT tags for all of our deer and elk hunts, but time is limited for their purchase. Likewise we have LOP tags available for all of our hunts.

Mule Deer Management Hunts

   We will be targeting quality animals that most hunters consider trophies. They will be in the 3 and 4 point bucks, 20 - 25 inch rack size. We will be harvesting these bucks as they become available in the field. Larger, trophy animals are available as part of the trophy hunt package. Deer camps will be Ranch home based or Safari Style Camps, with some Spike Camp setups away from our base camps. The hunts take place throughout the state including North Central Oregon, NE Oregon in the Imnaha river drainage, Imnaha, Chesnimnus, and Snake River Units, Central Oregon, Fort Rock Unit, in Eastern Oregon, Sumpter Unit. In Washington state, SE Washington Units, Ritzville and Almota. The hunting will be primarily spot and stalk, and stand hunting. We will transport your game to a processor and arrange transportation to your home if needed. All hunts 5 days and 6 nights unless otherwise stated.

Oregon Hunts

Sumpter Ranch Unit 151 – $3500 + tag and license
   This expansive ranch is approximately 15,000 acres. On the edge of the Burnt River Canyon, it historically has been the home of some monster Mulies. So much so that deer taken with a bow have been featured is two national publications. Terrain will be both grassland, open High Desert, clear cuts and timber. This property has not been grazed for numerous years so provides excellent habitat for its resident big game herds. This hunt will feature ranch based camp or safari style camp, depending on what part of the ranch you are hunting. We strongly suggest booking this one soon.

Fort Rock Ranch Unit 177 – $3500 + tag and license
   This 33,000 acre ranch is in the heart of the Ochoco-Paulina-Fort Rock triangle. All trophy hunters know that a serious number of nice bucks and 185 to 195 B&C bucks come from these areas. It has been logged over that last several years. The resulting emerging habitat is perfectly suited for the Big bucks of this region, and is experiencing resurgence in deer numbers. Likewise this ranch has not been grazed for a number of years so browse and range conditions coupled with good genetics, this is a prime situation for big Mulies. We have tags available, and this ranch is booking fast. Safari Style Camp. Big country, big bucks.

Imnaha Ranch Units 158, 159, 161 – $3000 + tag and license    10,000 acre ranch, based along the Imnaha River, in three different units... All approached from a different angle, we killed some nice buck here a few ago, we are back on this ranch, and it has not been hunted since then. Rocky, steep, benches, drainages, big timber, and grassland, good water and lots of nooks and crannies for the Big Boys to hide in. Ranch home based camp. If you got the brass, well it is the place to be, but man it is tough to hunt up high and sometimes down low, lots of bucks and good ground to hunt. Watch out for the Bighorns, they might blow you off of the trail.

  • All Oregon deer hunts are guided 2 hunters per 1 guide, 6 nights and 5 days; include lodging, meals, on ground transportation, guide, and game in the field processing. Tags will be either be Outfitter’s Non-Resident tags, general draw or LOP tags In Oregon. A reservation deposit of 60% of the hunt price is required plus license and tags for all hunts. License and tag is additional for all hunts.
  • Oregon Non-Resident Hunting license and Deer tag totals $516.00. Non-Resident Outfitter tags are additional.

Washington Hunts

Blue Ridge Ranch Units 284, 142 – $2995+ tag and license
   Approximately 30,000 acres of multiple ranches put together for recreational management purposes. Incredible grassland, CRP, open range, great expanses of ranch land to hunt. 95% success in 2010, ranch home based camps. Over the counter tags, great hunting, many deer in this vast area of varied terrain and ground cover. It is a great beginner’s hunt, lots of spot and stalk is utilized on these ranches.

   All Washington deer hunts are guided 2 on 1 guide, 5 nights and 4 days, include lodging, meals, on ground transportation, guide, and game in the field processing...Tags will be over the counter general tags . A reservation deposit of 60% of the hunt price is required plus license and tags for all hunts. License and tag is additional for all hunts.

2011 Rocky Mountain Elk Rifle Hunting

   These hunts take place throughout the state including North Central Oregon, NE Oregon in the Imnaha river drainage, Imnaha, Chesnimnus, and Snake River Units, Central Oregon, Fort Rock Unit, and in Eastern Oregon, Sumpter Unit. These areas hold a substantial number of Elk, both resident Elk herds and herds migrating from range to range. There are numerous branch antlered elk in these areas.

   The tags available include special Outfitter non-resident tags, OTC and LOP tags. The hunting will be primarily spot and stalk, and stand hunting. Terrain will be both grassland, open High Desert, clear cuts and timber. Comfort will be optimum in our base tent camp or a ranch based camp. Lodging, meals, and meat handling included. We will transport your game to a processor and arrange transportation to your home.

Sumpter Ranch Unit 251A - First Season October 26 to October 30 – Sumpter Ranch 251A 6 nights/5 days of hunting $4500 + tag and license. This expansive ranch is approximately 15,000 acres. On the edge of the Burnt River Canyon, it historically has been the home of some Big Bulls. This property has not been grazed for numerous years so provides excellent habitat for its resident big game herds, and the Elk of course. Terrain will be both grassland, open High Desert, clear cuts and timber. A ranch based camp or safari style camp, depending on what part of the ranch you are hunting. We strongly suggest booking this one soon. Perhaps you will get a fleeting glance at a Big Horn while hunting this great property.

Fort Rock Ranch Unit 235X, 235Y - $3500 + tag and license. First Hunt: November 5 to November 9th, 6 nights/5 days of hunting Second Hunt: November 9 to 13: Fort Rock Ranch 235Y 6 nights/5 days of hunting. This 33,000 acre ranch is in the heart of the Ochoco-Paulina-Fort Rock triangle. A nice herd of Elk use this ranch all year long. It has been logged over that last several years. Imnaha, Chesnimnus, and Snake River, We bagged some nice Bulls here a few ago, we are back on this ranch, and it has not been hunted since then. Ranch home based camp.

2011 Bow Hunting in Oregon and Washington

Mule Deer and Blacktail Deer Bow Hunts

   These hunts occur around the state including Southwest Oregon Units, North Central Oregon, NE Oregon in the Imnaha river drainage Imnaha, Chesnimnus, and Snake River Units, Central Oregon Fort Rock Unit, in Eastern Oregon, Sumpter Unit, and SE Washington Units, Ritzville and Almota. Terrain will be both grassland, open High Desert, clear cuts and timber. Spot and Stalk, Blinds, and Tree Stand hunting. In past seasons there has been abundant Mule Deer, Blacktail Deer and Whitetail Deer in residence. Occasionally additional population management (either sex tags) tags become available. Ranch based, tent camp, or hotel accommodations, depending on hunt availability. 4 days and 5 nights, 2 hunters per guide.

Roosevelt Elk And Rocky Mountain Elk Bow Hunts In Oregon
